Television is the most common form of electronic media that used for entertainment and mass communication for more than last 100 years. Television became available in crude experimental forms in the late 1920s, but it would still be several years before the new technology was marketed to consumers. Since the 2nd World War improved form of TV broadcasting become popular in the United States and Britain, and television sets became commonplace in homes, businesses, and institutions. During the 1950s, television was the primary medium for influencing public opinion. In the mid-1960s, color broadcasting was introduced in the US and most other developed countries.

Over the time the transition of TVs are phenomenal. The old huge framed Televisions are disappeared from the shelf and no more available in the stores. Currently we are living in the time when all televisions are of modern technologies and the display technologies are transformed in Plasma, LCD and OLED. The Televisions are also advanced in resolutions that are commonly referred as LD( Low-definition ), SDTV (Standard-definition television), HD (High-definition) television and also UHD(Ultra-high-definition) television. UHD is the most recent form of television by resolution also known as Super Hi-Vision, Ultra HD television, UltraHD, UHDTV, or UHD. The HD and UHD are also has several categories like  includes 4K UHD (2160p) and 8K UHD (4320p), which are two digital video formats proposed by NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories and defined and approved by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
